Learn more about exercise information

What is exercise information ?

Nike refers to information generated by the app, such as your athletic activities and figures related to physical characteristics, as “exercise information.” Your workout information includes information about your location, acceleration, or heart rate. Exercise information may also include measurements calculated from information recorded as you exercise, such as distance run, step speed, and estimated calories burned. Accurate measurements of your physical characteristics are also part of your workout information, rather than information about your athletic activity, such as your height, weight and usual heart rate.

Because the above information is personal, Nike will do its best to provide you with clear information about how the above athletic information is used. As this information may be considered sensitive in certain jurisdictions, we will take appropriate steps to protect and use this information and, where required by applicable law or Nike's bylaws, obtain your consent for use. no see.

How does Nike use athletic information ?

Nike collects athletic information from you. This is to help you achieve your fitness goals when you use our fitness apps, participate in events, and when we provide products or services to you.

Consent for using the core features of the app and experience

Our apps and experiences in many cases require consent to allow Nike to process your athletic data as a prerequisite for using core features. For example, when you use the Nike+ Running app, Nike accesses your location or movement information and height (when using a treadmill) to measure the distance you run and the pace you step at. When you participate in a Nike event, such as a run, Nike will collect information about the time and distance you run.

Nike may also maintain systems that store information about your workouts and other activities to provide you with apps and services, and provide internal reporting on metrics such as registration, usage, and popularity. In some countries, we will obtain your express consent for the processing of your workout data in order to provide core functionality or experience for the app. In these countries, you may not use the experience above unless you consent to the processing required.

default height and weight

Some apps and experiences require your height and weight to work with key features such as distance and calorie counting. If you do not wish to provide your actual height and weight, Nike will use default height and weight measurements. This allows Nike to provide the core functionality of the app, and you have more control over the information you share with us. If you use the default metrics, the app and experience may make some numbers less accurate than if you provide accurate metrics.

Personalization and analysis based on exercise information

Nike also offers a number of optional innovative features. It utilizes individual and comprehensive workout information analysis to help personalize your experience. For example, we analyze your workout information to provide you with personalized training plans that are modified as you progress over time. By analyzing your recent and past workouts, we can recommend the best program for your current activity level and goals. We will compare your activity to that of millions of other activists so that we can continue to improve our program and deliver you the best recommendations.

Nike may also personalize event invitations or product recommendations based on your workout information. For example, you may be selected to receive invitations to participate in clubs, training clubs, runs, etc., based on your performance recorded in our apps or your experience. Depending on your use of the app, you may receive a discount on new shoes to celebrate reaching a goal within the app, or you may receive recommendations for shoes preferred by other exercisers with similar running habits. If you do not wish to use any of these personalized features, or if you do not wish to have your workout information included in our personalized synthesis studies, you can control that preference in your “Your workout information” settings.

If you allow Nike to use your workout information for these personalization purposes, your workout information may be included in aggregate information shared with others through the app. Accordingly, for example, the distance you run will be included in the aggregate information of all users on the Nike+ Running app, and your workout information will be included in the aggregate criteria and metrics (including metrics based on user type) shown in the app or experience. .

Your preferences for direct marketing will still be respected

Notwithstanding your “About My Workouts” setting, Nike will respect your existing preferences regarding how we communicate with you for direct marketing purposes. If you have opted-in to receive marketing communications via email, you will continue to receive emails. If you opt-out of receiving marketing communications via e-mail, modifying your workout information settings will not trigger a new e-mail program.

These settings are about whether or not your workout information is analyzed to personalize content, training programs, product offers, recommendations, etc. The settings above do not affect your separate choice as to whether Nike emails or texts you.

Third party device connection _

Nike's digital products and services also support connectivity with third-party devices that can capture workout information. If you connect a third-party device, such as a running watch or heart rate monitor, to the Nike Services and set it up to connect to Nike, you agree to provide exercise information from the device to the Nike platform. If the above information is stored within the Nike platform, Nike will treat the information generated from the device as exercise information.
